2. Let’s Talk About Race Equality (Debating White Privilege, Micro-Aggressions, Allyship & Active Bystanders)

   The 2020 Black Lives Matter movement, reignited conversations on the subject of race equality, across the globe - The need for positive culture change was at the forefront of those discussions. This workshop aims to equip participants with the knowledge, skills and confidence to address race equality at LJMU and understand the importance of ally-ship.

   LJMU are proud to be working in partnership with Subject Matter Expert; GenderSpace and are pleased to offer LJMU Staff the opportunity to participate in a half day, Transgender Awareness Workshop.

6. Major study of Cold War waste finds uranium 'largely inert'

   The threat to the environment posed by uranium left over from the Cold War may be less severe than feared, according to a field study led by Liverpool John Moores University.

7. Women In Leadership: What Does It Take For Women To Rise To The Top? (Event Invite - 26th Feb 2020)

   After 33 years of service, Julie Lloyd (Executive HR Director at LJMU) retires from the University. Julie is passionate about the progression of women in the workplace and has always advocated for more women in the boardroom - In her talk, Julie will explore the critical issues as to why we are not seeing more women in top positions and offer tips and strategies for overcoming the challenges to womens advancement and career progression.

8. Women In Leadership: What Does It Take For Women To Rise To The Top? (Event Invite - 26th Feb 2020)

   After 33 years of service, Julie Lloyd (Executive HR Director at LJMU) retires from the University. Julie is passionate about improving gender diversity and will offer tips on how to obtain a top leadership roles and how to promote gender diversity in senior positions.

9. The power of Staff Networks. Join and work with us to shape university policy

   Our staff networks have been integral in progressing certain policies for LJMU staff, including on maternity leave and menopause.

10. Passion for gender equity inspires international partnership to promote Women in Science

    Women scientists at LJMU have won a grant to share our institutional learnings on gender equality with partner institutions in Brazil.
