2. US soccer sport scientist shares insight from across the pond

   LJMU graduate, doctoral researcher and US Soccer sport scientist Patrick Mannix shared his expert insight with students as he returned to his educational roots in the city.

3. Care experienced girls and young women still at risk of unnecessary criminalisation

   Girls and women who have been through the care system should be diverted away from custodial sentences into community alternatives wherever possible, says a new report published today (Weds 4 May 2022). And the study adds that moves to prevent the criminalisation of girls in care need to be high on the agenda for change.

4. Women in football celebrated at inaugural LJMU networking event

   On Wednesday 15 June, LJMU celebrated the work of women in football at the inaugural meeting of the Football Exchange Women's Network (FExWN). The event brought together network members, delegates and industry speakers to celebrate their contributions to the sport and to challenge the realms of what is considered possible.

   Join the Student Futures team for a series of events helping you think about your future goals. The sessions are friendly, open to students from any programme or year group and will help you gain clarity on your next steps.

6. Rapidly changing climate poses high risk for legacy waste pollution on UK coast

   New research co-authored by hydrologists at LJMU has found that more than 3,000 coastal locations in England and Wales are at risk of pollution from legacy landfill sites due to the changing climate.

7. Top spots for new students to get to know across Liverpool

   From Liverpool One to Sefton Park, our current students, staff and alumni share their favourite spots across the city.

8. Presenting the past to the public

   Research at LJMU is working on ways of presenting the past and creating content for historic sites and museums across Ireland and the rest of the globe.

9. Masters in Art and Design Degree Show: Class of 2020 show their enterprise

   Around 40 students will exhibit their ideas from MA courses in Fine Art, Graphic Art and Illustration, Art in Science, Fashion Innovation and Realisation and Exhibition Studies.

10. Merseyside Chief Constable's Lecture: Guns and Gangs

    Chief Constable of Merseyside Police Andy Cooke QPM delivered this year's Annual Chief Constable's Lecture titled ‘Guns and Gangs’.
