1. Free health and wellbeing merchandise for staff

   T-shirts, outerwear, mugs and water bottles are now available to help staff get talking and thinking about their health and wellbeing.

2. Praise for LJMU’s support of care leavers from Minister for Higher and Further Education

   LJMU deserves the highest praise for their success according to the Minister for Higher and Further Education, after it was the first of only four institutions to be awarded the National Network for the Education of Care Leavers (NNECL) Quality Mark.

3. Hireserve hiring manager portal

   To streamline our process for recruitment and selection of staff, we are now using the Hireserve hiring manager portal.

4. Silver award for support of the Armed Forces

   LJMU has received the silver award from the Ministry of Defence Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS) acknowledging how it provides support to the Armed Forces community.

5. LJMU ranks in top 60 UK universities for Sustainable Development Goals

   Liverpool John Moores University has ranked 301st to 400th internationally in the Times Higher Education Impact Rankings, for its commitment to the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. The rankings also place LJMU in the top 60 UK universities and top six universities in the North West

6. Dental plan for LJMU staff

   The scheme provided by Unum Dental is an insurance policy available to LJMU staff, apply by 31 Jan 2024.

7. Students at the Heart Conference 2023: submission deadline extended

   The Students at the Heart Conference 2023 submission deadline has been extended until 9am, Monday 13 March to allow more time for staff and students to make a submission, to present at the conference.

8. LJMU joins action group spearheading positive change for technical career pathways

   Two LJMU staff members will sit on the Career Pathways Action Group.

9. One day conference to shine expert insight on the history of the Battle of the Atlantic

   The Centre for Port and Maritime History is to host the event in association with the Battle of the Atlantic Memorial Trust, considering the history and legacies of the battle 80 years on.
