3. £5M European funding to support development of Liverpool’s ‘Sensor City’

   The England European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), part of the European Structural and Investment Funds Growth Programme 2014-2020, has awarded £5 million to support the development of a hi-tech sensor hub in Liverpool city centre.

4. Demonstrating technology in action to stimulate ideas among SMEs

   Engineering and technology experts proved that ‘demonstration is key to stimulating ideas’ as they invited businesses from across Cheshire and Warrington onto campus to see research, simulation and innovation facilities.

   LJMU is inviting applications for fully-funded PhD scholarships and our Thematic Doctoral Pathways programme.

7. Start-up funding opportunity for new student businesses

   The LJMU Start-up Hub is excited to announce that the new Bathgate Boost award is now open! The £500 award is designed to support students who can demonstrate their business idea. Sitting alongside this funding is a package of support from the Start-up Hub team built around developing your start-up and skills as an entrepreneur. The award is open to all current LJMU students and new alumni who graduated from LJMU during 2023.

8. Royal Photographic Society award for Professor Wilkinson

   Professor Caroline Wilkinson, Director of LJMU’s School of Art and Design, has received a prestigious award from the Royal Photographic Society (RPS).

9. Senior Lecturer secures BA Skills Innovator Award

   Senior Lecturer in Humanities and Social Science, Dr Ojo Adegbola, has won a coveted British Academy Skills Innovator Award.
