This was the subject of a fascinating lecture on the cosmos and the universe in the latest Roscoe lecture at St Georges Hall, delivered by Monica Grady, Professor of Planetary and Space Sciences at the Open University (OU)

5. Sport science students make an impact with nearly 15,000 hours of placements

   From community sports clubs that support people with special educational needs to premier league football clubs, 173 students have undertaken 14,730 hours of work-based placements this academic year.

   At the first of the day's Graduation Ceremonies, education students from LJMU's Faculty of Education, Health and Community collected their certificates at Liverpool Cathedral.

Presenter Martel Maxwell and expert James Braxton talked to Professor Brian Maidment before heading over to the School of Art & Design to be sketched by two graphic design students.
