1. School of Biological & Environmental Sciences accredited with Athena SWAN Bronze Award

   Biological and Environmental Sciences has become the fifth LJMU school to have received the Athena SWAN Bronze Award.

   We caught up with the co-chairs of the current LJMU staff networks to find out what they have already achieved and what their plans are for 2022.  

3. Honour Based Abuse, Female Genital Mutilation and Forced Marriage conference held in partnership with Savera UK 

   LJMU equality and diversity team worked in partnership with SaveraUK to host an inspiring HBA, FGM and FM event in November 2019.

4. Training for managers: disabilities and long-term health conditions, including mental health

   LJMU’s Equality, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI) Team, are proud to be working in partnership with coaching and training specialists; Result CIC (Community Interest Company) and are pleased to offer LJMU Managers, Programme Leaders and Personal Tutors (those directly responsible for staff/students) the opportunity to participate in a half day Training for Managers of Staff with Disabilities & Long-Term Health Conditions Including Mental Health, workshop.

5. International Pronouns Day

   International Pronouns Day seeks to make respecting, sharing and educating about personal pronouns common practice.

6. LJMU Diversity and Inclusion Calendar 2023 is now available

   LJMU’s Diversity and Inclusion Calendar is now available as a resource to all staff and students on the LJMU website.

7. Launch of Women’s Professional Services Staff Network 

   LJMUs newest staff network has launched this February with over 70 attendees from across Professional Services attending the event online. 

8. Colleagues proudly support Liverpool Against Racism events

   LJMU staff members proudly supported sessions at the Liverpool Against Racism Conference this week, a day of conversation around systematic racism in society and a debate on what meaningful change really looks like.

9. New LJMU Library ‘Every Voice Collection’ available for all students and staff

   The LJMU Library 'Every Voice: Diversity, Equality, Inclusion Collection' has over 8000 titles that champion different voices.

10. Seminar series: decolonising the science curriculum

    This is a virtual seminar series to encourage discourse on decolonising the curriculum in the sciences.
