1. LJMU partnerships to tackle skills gap in construction

   LJMU wowed industry partners with its future homes research at the launch of a new £370,000 centre for construction skills.

   LJMUs School of Sport and Exercise Sciences is piloting a unique programme to support talented young athletes in schools and colleges across Merseyside, and its neighbouring counties.

4. LJMU takes handover of landmark Copperas Hill development

   Liverpool John Moores University has taken handover of its landmark new development on Copperas Hill. Contractor Morgan Sindall Construction has reached practical completion of the three and a half acre site in the heart of the city centre.

5. Raising environmental awareness among schoolchildren

   LJMU has been awarded funding to help raise awareness and understanding of the climate, the environment and nature among schoolchildren in the Liverpool City Region.

6. International Welcome starts this week

   This is the first bespoke welcome programme catered for International New Arrivals.

7. Vice Chancellor hosts former Education Secretary at LJMU

   Justine Greening, former Secretary of State for Education visited Mark Power, Vice Chancellor (interim), this week to discuss LJMUs successful track record prioritising social mobility and inclusion.

8. Pupils learn media skills thanks to LJMU and the BBC

   School and college pupils from across the region have gained an insight into the media and creative industries, thanks to LJMU and the BBC.

9. February is LGBT+ History Month

   This month marks LGBT+ History Month 2022, a chance to shine a light on the overlooked and complicated history of all of the identities and communities under the LGBT+ umbrella .

10. Churchill Way Flyovers

    Liverpool City Council will shortly begin the process of demolishing the Churchill Way flyovers.
