1. 'Liverpool Model' leads way in tackling gaps in student mental health services

   Students are set to benefit from better join up of mental health services to prevent them falling through the gaps at university.

   LJMU recently hosted ‘John Lennon Day’ celebrating both his 77th birthday and the diamond anniversary of the Beatles icon’s enrolment as a Fine Art student at the university.

3. Mersey Youth Rowing's First Training Workshop with LJMU's Performance Sports Department

   The Performance Sports Department hosted Mersey Youth Rowing's inaugural training workshop. The program, developed by Warrington Rowing Club, promotes diversity in rowing and imparts vital life skills. Coached by experts including Dr. Tim Donovan and Professor Graeme Close, the workshop equips youth rowers with essential knowledge for their competitive journey.

4. Aurora Women's Leadership Programme reopens to applicants

   More places are available on the Advance HE Aurora Womens Leadership Programme.

5. Pride in Liverpool 2023

   Students, staff and alumni from across LJMU will be joining the LCR Pride March on Saturday 29 July, taking to the streets of Liverpool to march in protest and in celebration.

6. LJMU's Outdoor Learning Area officially opens

   Trainee teachers and schoolchildren from across the Liverpool City Region are developing new skills and confidence thanks to LJMUs Outdoor Learning Area. The green space in the heart of the city centre has been officially opened this week and is already hugely popular with student teachers and school pupils.

   Five journalism students covered the Mowgli Dog Show this month, hosted by LJMUs Chancellor Nisha Katona.

8. Northern Ireland Teachers’ Conference success

   Visitors heard about the latest admissions policies revealed during an informative Q&A admissions panel, in addition to participating in a session delivered by several LJMU students from Northern Ireland who talked about life at LJMU.

9. The University Funded Diversity and Inclusion Scheme research initiatives announced

   After consideration of all applications to the University Funded Diversity and Inclusion Scheme, the projects to receive funding have been announced.
