1. Liverpool John Moores University awarded Athena Swan Silver

   LJMU has been recognised with the Athena Swan Silver Award for the university's commitment to promoting gender equality.

2. Start-up funding opportunity for new student businesses

   The LJMU Start-up Hub is excited to announce that the new Bathgate Boost award is now open! The £500 award is designed to support students who can demonstrate their business idea. Sitting alongside this funding is a package of support from the Start-up Hub team built around developing your start-up and skills as an entrepreneur. The award is open to all current LJMU students and new alumni who graduated from LJMU during 2023.

3. Your new Academic Board members

   Following the call for nominations for five vacancies on our Academic Board, the Secretariat is pleased to announce that they have filled the positions.

4. LJMU Climate Research Institute

   Staff are invited to attend a second workshop focussed on the proposed LJMU Climate Research Institute. It follows the successful design sprint session held in December, in which colleagues with research interests in the area met to begin scoping out the planned institute.

5. Law student duo secure prestigious Anthony Walker Bursary Scheme

   Two School of Law students are celebrating their success after securing the prestigious Anthony Walker Bursary Scheme.

6. National Student Survey 2024

   The National Student Survey (NSS) 2024 is now under way for final year undergraduates at LJMU.

7. LJMU funded bootcamp programme for staff

   We are funding 16 staff places on a new bootcamp programme which will see you complete ’24 in 24’ – that’s 24 sessions in 2024.

8. Call for staff support for LJMU's Armed Forces Steering Group

   The steering group would like more colleagues from across the university to get involved with their work.

9. LJMU leading the way in the use of VR in business education

   Academics from Liverpool Business School have used the immersive learning techniques on modules within the MSc Management and Digital Business programme.

10. LJMU earns environmental recognition

    LJMU has been recognised for its environmental initiatives on campus following an external inspection.
