3. Liverpool School of Art and Design

   The Liverpool School of Art and Design has been valuing innovation and enterprise since 1825. Today, our community of artists, designers, illustrators and architects deliver cutting-edge programmes, produce high-impact research and work alongside some of the world’s most iconic cultural leaders.

4. Appraisals

   The University has a personal review and personal development (Appraisal) scheme to provide clarity for staff at least once a year. Find out more about appraisals.

5. Dr George Sharples

   In 2023, George was recognised for being LJMU’s longest serving member of staff, having worked at the university for some 51 years. He is a Reader in Pharmacy and Biomolecular Sciences and joined LJMU in 1972.

6. Interviews and memoirs – Elder Dempster

   As part of the Homeward Bound project we’ve collected 25 oral testimonies from Elder Dempster Line’s seafaring and office staff. Listen to the interviews.

7. Teaching Insights Seminars 2024/2025

   We are pleased to launch this year’s Teaching Insights Seminar series. These seminars are delivered by LJMU staff and present current issues.

8. School of Public and Allied Health

   The school of Public and Allied Health brings together disciplines from across the spectrum of health and social care, from high-level, wide-reaching policy perspectives, through to those professions delivering personalised patient care.

9. Women Professional Services Network

   The University Women in the Professional services (WPS) is for all female staff in professional services at all levels. Established in 2022 we see the Network as taking a fundamental role to the University strategic mission and to become a visible and proactive consultative group on issues of gender diversity.

10. Stonewall

    In 2022, Liverpool John Moores University renewed their Diversity Champions membership, to ensure the continuation of our LGBTQI+ staff feeling free to be themselves and to continue the work to increase the feeling of belongingness.
