1. Professorship and readership conferment process

   To provide as much planning time as possible we can confirm that the LJMU professorship and readership conferment process for 2023/24 will open from 27 November 2023.

2. New performance review and development system

   Following a successful pilot scheme, from next week all staff will be able to access a brand new system to take ownership of their development and objective.

3. New support for staff development

   The university will shortly be introducing a new system to support you in recording and tracking performance and development conversations.

4. New Wilfred Owen film scoops thirteen international festival awards

   A new film telling the story of the fascinating final year of WWI English poet and soldier Wilfred Owen’s life has scooped a collection of international industry awards.

5. World-class status for Sport and Exercise Sciences in new academic ranking

   Liverpool John Moores University’s School of Sport and Exercise Sciences has been named the 6th best department in the world according to the Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) for the Sports Sciences subject area, highlighting the School’s global research influence. The results also show the School ranked as the 2nd best department in the UK and the 3rd best in Europe.

6. Global Active Cities project shortlisted for THE International Collaboration award

   An LJMU spearheaded initiative to increase physical activity within cities across the globe has been shortlisted for a prestigious Times Higher Education Award.

7. School of Art and Design receives RIBA funding

   RIBA has awarded funding to LJMU's School of Art and Design for innovative research into building design for sufferers of dementia.

8. Summer building closing times

   LJMU buildings will move to summer opening hours from Monday 19 June.

9. National Student Survey 2022

   We are launching the National Student Survey (NSS) 2022 to eligible final year students next week.
