3. £50,000 project to assess mental health value of 'great outdoors'

   A successful bid by a national research group led by LJMU looks to better strengthen the use outdoor natural environments as a mental health asset over the coming decade.

4. Liverpool leaders share learnings from Reciprocal Mentoring

   The project, which began 14 months ago, saw leaders from across LJMU’s ELT paired with Black and ethnic minority Liverpool city leaders to share their lived experiences and inform policy and decision making at the university and beyond.

5. World Mental Health Day 2019

   World Mental Health Day on October the 10th is the annual global celebration of mental health education, awareness and advocacy. Throughout the week starting Monday 7th– Friday 11th October LJMU Student Advice and Wellbeing Services will be delivering a range of activities and raising awareness to celebrate good mental health and encourage us all to look at what we can do to maintain and promote positive wellbeing.

6. Research confirms severity of COVID hazards for dentists

   New research has underlined the hazards associated with COVID-19 in dental surgery settings, and a solution to higher patient turnover.

7. LJMU awarded £44,000 to promote chemistry to school pupils in hard to reach areas

   LJMU has been awarded £44,000 to expand an innovative chemistry outreach scheme to encourage young people from 11 schools across deprived areas of Liverpool City Region, to become the scientists of the future.

8. MA WRITING students offer short and powerful insights into life in Liverpool

   Liverpool 500 was part of the LJMU MA Writing program and has been shared with Liverpool in Australia a collaboration which forms part of LJMUs Liverpool 2 Liverpool project with University of Wollongongs Liverpool Campus in Sydney.

    LJMU has received a £5 million share of HEFCE’s £200 million funding scheme to support an increase in high-quality science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) students.
