  2. Women's Physiology and Nutrition Symposium

    The Women's Physiology and Nutrition Symposium is hosted by exercise metabolism researchers Dr Jennifer Barrett, Dr Kelsie Johnson and Dr Juliette Strauss from our Research institute of Sport and Exercise Science department.

    Within the Nutrition and Health Research Group, we deliver meaningful research which examines the relationships between food, nutrition and health.   5. Brain and Behaviour Research Group

    In the Brain and Behaviour Research Group within RISES, we study human motor behaviour from the neural level through to perception and cognition. Our two main areas of research are sensorimotor neuroscience and expert performance and learning.

  7. Hannah Kate Whelan

    Hannah is an impressive LJMU alumni and former British gymnast turned coach and now mother. During her career she represented England and Great Britain at competitions including the Olympics, Commonwealth Games, British, European and World Championships, all while balancing her studies as a sports scholar.
