2. Global Active Cities project shortlisted for THE International Collaboration award

   An LJMU spearheaded initiative to increase physical activity within cities across the globe has been shortlisted for a prestigious Times Higher Education Award.

3. Liverpool Business School makes global entrepreneurship impact with Prime Minister of Lebanon

   Academics from LJMU's Liverpool Business School, alongside project colleagues from the Middle East, have met with the Prime Minister of Lebanon, Mr. Najib Mikati, at the Grand Serail to present a policy brief on entrepreneurship in Lebanon.

4. Project Harpocrates scholarship for police staff seeking a career in covert investigations and intelligence

   The police staff, drawn from Nottinghamshire Police, West Midlands Police and British Transport Police, secured the scholarship opportunity under an initiative known as Project Harpocrates. The project seeks to support law enforcement efforts to recruit and retain staff in the highly specialist area of covert operations and specialist intelligence.  Whilst the project was open to all officers one of the specific aims of the project is to increase the representation of  Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic staff (BAME)  in this challenging and exciting area of investigation and intelligence management.

   Faculty of Arts, Professional and Social Studies graduates celebrated in style on the last day of spring graduation.

7. World Mental Health Day: LJMU outlines commitment to mental health and suicide prevention

   Thursday 10 October is World Mental Health Day and LJMU is raising awareness of all aspects of mental health and wellbeing, including suicide prevention, by outlining the support and resources available at the university for students and staff.

8. Transatlantic research partnership in the arts

   LJMU’s School of Art and Design has agreed a five-year partnership with Transart Institute in New York City, which will see the two organisations offer a joint transdisciplinary doctoral programme from summer 2020. The aim of the programme is to create an exchange in research areas including contemporary art, art history, curating and exhibition studies, digital culture and technology.

   LJMU opened its doors to the local community as a host of its academics shared insights into research topics making a difference in the Liverpool City Region.

10. Another ‘first’ for LJMU in Sport and Exercise Sciences

    Professor Zoe Knowles is set to become the first woman to chair the British Association of Sport and Exercise Sciences (BASES).
