4. Discoveries of faint galaxies using supernovae

   Tom Sedgwick, PhD student at the Astrophysics Research Institute (ARI), part of LJMU,has with a team of ARI astronomers discovered 140 ‘new’galaxies, with findings due to be published in April’s edition of the prestigious journal Monthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society.

5. Give out Wellbeing Journals to all your students in your Personal Tutor meetings

   Copies of the new 2022-23 Wellbeing Journal are now available for all students, and academic staff are being encouraged to hand them out at their first personal tutor meetings with students.

6. Our LJMU community celebrating Ramadan

   Ramadan begins on 2 April and our LJMU Equality team is sharing the support available for those celebrating plus their advice on how our LJMU community can help students and staff who may be fasting.

7. University shortlisted for three THELMAs

   LJMU has been nominated for three Times Higher Education Leadership and Management Awards (THELMAs).

8. New arrangements for AV support

   We have a new system in place to support you in using audio visual and display technology in our teaching spaces.

9. January exams: training for invigilators

   In anticipation of the January examination period, Academic Registry will be holding invigilation training sessions for LJMU staff throughout December.

10. Liverpool Biennial: Fab Lab helps create Bluecoat exhibition

    Kent Chan's Hot House made with artisans from LJMU's Fab Lab.
