3. World Mental Health Day 2019

   World Mental Health Day on October the 10th is the annual global celebration of mental health education, awareness and advocacy. Throughout the week starting Monday 7th– Friday 11th October LJMU Student Advice and Wellbeing Services will be delivering a range of activities and raising awareness to celebrate good mental health and encourage us all to look at what we can do to maintain and promote positive wellbeing.

4. LJMU receives £1.3million for new STFC data science training centre

   Liverpool John Moores University, in partnership with the University of Liverpool, are set to host a new £1.3million Centre for Doctoral Training providing comprehensive postgraduate training in data intensive science.

5. Art providing a ‘window into the world of the shepherdess’

   Liverpool School of Art and Designs Dr Patricia MacKinnon-Day is celebrated in a new publication that traces a decade of her work telling the stories of rural women through art and autoethnography.

6. Schoolgirl researchers visit world-class sport science labs

   The year 9 pupils from Liverpool's Holly Lodge Girls College spent two days working alongside world-class scientists in physiology, biomechanics and sport and exercise psychology, as well as current LJMU students, to gain expert insight into sport science research methodology.

7. Improving PGT student identity and their experience through understanding their expectations on entry – the findings from an 11 University HEFCE funded project

   The seminar will provide an opportunity for exploration through some of the findings from the HEFCE funded project.

8. This time last year LJMU student and now graduate Nathan Bickerton, went viral
