6. New species of human relative discovered on South African Cave

   The discovery of a new species of human relative has shed light on the origins and diversity of our origins.

7. Discovery of a New Galaxy in Cosmic Neighbourhood

   Astronomers, including Professor Maurizio Salaris from the Astrophysics Research Institute at Liverpool John Moores University, used the Hubble Space Telescope to photograph the globular star cluster NGC 6752 (located 13,000 light-years away in our Milky Way's halo).

8. Summer building opening times

   LJMU will move to its summer building opening hours from Monday 24 June.

9. Panama welcomes LJMU at world-famous canal launch

   A Liverpool delegation including Eddie Blanco-Davis, from LJMU’s Faculty of Engineering and Technology flew to Panama at the behest of the UK embassy in Panama to attend the official launch of the £3.9bn expansion of the Panama Canal.

10. Staff and Students celebrate South Asian and East South-east Asian Heritage Month

    The Diversity and Inclusion event held at the Student Life Building this week ‘Cultivating Representation: If you can see it, you can be it’ was open to all staff and students to celebrate South Asian (SA) and East South-east Asian (ESEA) Heritage Month.
