   Additional training dates have now been made available as GaP (Grants and Projects) training has proved to be very popular.

2. LJMU art students invite the public to share their visions for the future at end of year degree show

   The Liverpool School of Art & Design will be opening its doors to the public to showcase this year’s talented undergraduates. The theme of this year’s show is ‘Where do you see yourself 10 years from now?’

3. Students learn traditional techniques to create sustainable fabrics and garments

   Throughout the academic year more than 120 undergraduate, MA and PhD students from a range of disciplines across the Liverpool School of Art and Design have learnt a variety of traditional skills from leatherwork to weaving.

4. Liverpool Centre for Cultural, Social and Political Research

   The new Liverpool Centre for Cultural, Social and Political Research (CSPR) is looking to recruit four working group leads.

5. Healthcare framework proposed to improve health of ageing populations

   An LJMU researcher is part of an international team of researchers who have put forward a position statement, published in Science, which lays out a new healthcare framework to help ageing populations stay healthier for longer.

6. Prehistoric predators kept large animals in check and shaped ecosystem

   Our prehistoric ancestors may have had large carnivores – giant lions, saber-tooth cats, bears and hyenas up to twice the size of their modern relatives – to thank for an abundance and diversity of plants and wildlife.

7. Transgender Day / Remembrance Vigil Liverpool 

   Today is Transgender Day or Remembrance (20th November 2019) - A vigil will be held in Exchange Station 6.00pm onwards

8. Get Trained on GaP

   All grant funded projects and knowledge exchange projects must be recorded on the GaP system from April 2020

9. Black History Month through the eyes of a local Liverpool pupil

   This month Ceana Khonje, a local pupil from Belvedere College in Liverpool took on a work experience placement here at LJMU.

10. Student Spotlight: Abbie Romano

    The representations of women in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) roles is improving, but there’s work to be done. As of 2018, WISE Campaign (Women into Science and Engineering) announced that the UK is on track to have one million women working in the field by 2020. These statistics are encouraging, and demonstrate an improvement in opportunities shown to young women who pursue the career path.
