4. Forensic scientists versus psychic detectives

   In addition to his academic work as Principal Lecturer in Forensic Anthropology, and forensic duties as an expert witness, Dr Matteo Borrini of the School of Natural Sciences and Psychology, debunks psychics who attempt to be involved in forensic investigations, and has learnt the art of magic to help decode their strategies.

5. Careers advice for students and graduates with a disability, are neurodiverse or have a long term health condition.

   LJMU students and graduates attended a virtual careers event to give them advice on their future careers.

6. IVF pioneer leads new Masters in Clinical Embryology

   A shortage of fertility professionals has prompted a new Masters degree with Liverpool John Moores University.

7. 'I'm so excited about our new Learning Commons' - Library chief

   The CHAT this month meets Heather Thrift, Director of Library Services, to talk about the digital future, pushing the boundaries of customer service and an exciting new library in the SLB.

8. Graduate and Placement Jobs Fair

   The Graduate and Placement Jobs Fair takes place on Wednesday 18 October at the Student Life Building, 12-3pm. It will feature 60+ organisations from a range of sectors looking to hire students from across all courses and disciplines. If you have a disability, health condition or are neurodivergent and find busy fairs can be overwhelming, join us from 11am for our accessibility hour.

9. Social mobility: making the future work for everyone

   Former UK Secretary of State, Justine Greening, led a series of discussions at LJMU this week aimed at creating better opportunities for young people.
