1. Queen's New Year's Honours for LJMU Honorary Fellows

   Six LJMU Honorary Fellows have been recognised in the Queen’s New Year’s Honours list 2017.

3. Congratulations - we walked around the world 12 times in only 100 days!

   This is the fourth consecutive year that LJMU has enjoyed 100 days of stepping and wellbeing - with 78 teams taking part between 23 May and 30 August 2018.

4. Expressions of interest welcomed for Academic Board vacancies

   There are five vacancies available and eligible staff should send an expression of interest for the role to the Secretariat.

5. Expressions of interest welcomed for multiple Academic Board vacancies

   The Secretariat is now seeking expressions of interest from eligible LJMU staff to serve on the Academic Board and to take up their roles in September.

6. Policy updates: Safeguarding, Freedom of Speech and more

   Student Advice and Wellbeing and the International team want to make staff aware in particular of an update to the Safeguarding Policy regarding under-18 international students with LJMU and collaborative partners.

7. War hero visits LJMU in battle for mental health

   National hero Phil Packer MBE visited Liverpool John Moores University today (Jan 30) as part of a campaign for better student mental health.

8. One of only eight universities to secure prestigious international funding

   LJMU has been awarded approximately £490,000 from Research England’s first ever International Investment Initiative (I3). The award has been jointly made to LJMU and The University of Western Australia (UWA) for the international collaboration project, i-CARDIO. The project has a dual focus; the first component is the delivery of workshops to develop innovative ways to detect cardiovascular diseases for preventative intervention using imaging techniques. The second element is the evaluation of Australia’s model of accreditation of clinical exercise scientists and physiologists. The accreditation incorporates university and work place-based learning to enable graduates to secure roles in the healthcare system as recognised allied health professionals.

10. Graduation review Thursday 11 July 2019

    The penultimate day of our summer graduation week boasted three ceremonies; graduands from Liverpool Business School celebrated in both the morning and afternoon, while graduands from the School of Humanities and Social Science enjoyed their ceremony with family and friends from 5pm.
