1. Student finance reminder

   If you are an undergraduate student and are continuing on your course in September 2019, don’t forget to reapply for your student finance as soon as possible.

2. First appointment for new Jockey Nutrition and Welfare PhD

   A PhD co-funded by the British Horseracing Authority and LJMU will commence in October with a full-time three year role for Daniel Martin from the Professional Jockeys Association’s Nutrition Team.

3. Vice-Chancellor appointed Chairman of the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic

   LJMU Vice-Chancellor and Chief Executive, Professor Nigel Weatherill, has been appointed Chairman of the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic. The announcement of Professor Weatherill’s appointment as Chair for an initial three-year term has been made following approval of the recommendation by the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Board of Directors.

   Professor Laura Bishop has joined LJMU as the new Pro Vice-Chancellor for the Faculty of Science.
