1. Academic Board vacancies call for nominations

   Formal nominations need to be submitted by 5pm on Tuesday 23 January 2024.

2. Academic Framework Regulations updates for new academic year

   Two policies have been updated, one for undergraduate and one for postgraduate programmes.

3. Why the menopause matters and workplace support at LJMU

   For the past two years, colleagues across LJMU have been working to better understand and recognise the type of support needed by those experiencing the menopause, and to devise ways to create greater awareness across the organisation.

4. Data protection related policy updates

   Four data protection related policies have been updated and can now be found on the LJMU Policy Centre.

5. Audit and Risk Policy update

   The Engagement of External Auditors for Non-Audit Work Policy has been revised.

6. Librarian recognised by national Library Association

   Academic Engagement Librarian Gemma Wright has been recognised by CILIP, The Library and Information Association, as an outstanding professional helping to lead the sector into a new age of information.

7. Alleged Misconduct in Research and Knowledge Exchange Policy now approved

   The policy can be accessed via the LJMU Policy Centre.

8. Reportable Events Policy update

   Amendments are in line with the latest Office for Students (OfS) guidance.

9. Confidential Waste Policy update

   The updated policy includes further information on disposing of small amounts of confidential waste in confidential waste bins across the university and on how you can order secure bags for larger quantities.

10. Health, safety and environmental management code of practice updates

    The Executive Leadership Team (ELT) has recently approved a new health and safety code of practice as well as amendments to a further 11 policies.
