1. Induction September 2024 update

   As the whole university looks towards the beginning of the next standard academic year, this all staff update offers an overview of the work being undertaken to register and welcome our new students.

3. Mainstreaming care provision in mental health support requires a shift in culture

   More than one-third of people with severe mental health problems (SMI) have a co-existing alcohol/drug condition: but the evidence base on which to build effective service models and responses is limited.

4. LJMU and JMSU launch Respect Always

   Today marks the launch of Respect, Always!, a collaboration between LJMU and JMSU which aims to get to the heart of what ‘respect’ means to us all as individuals and to collectively recognise this across the university.

5. Nursing wins UK Student Satisfaction award

   Nursing students at LJMU are officially the most satisfied in the country as voted for by our own students!

6. North West Higher Education Action Learning Programme

   LJMU are offering up to ten places for women working in academic and professional services roles to take part in cross institutional action learning sets with peers from universities in the North West region.

7. Training School status for early career pharmacists

   First for Royal Pharmaceutical Society accreditation

8. One day conference to shine expert insight on the history of the Battle of the Atlantic

   The Centre for Port and Maritime History is to host the event in association with the Battle of the Atlantic Memorial Trust, considering the history and legacies of the battle 80 years on.

10. Apprenticeships and Student Governance policy updates

    The new Apprenticeships Policy has received Academic Board approval and 20 Student Governance policies, guidance and pro forma have recently been reviewed, and have received minor amendments.
