  1. Anyika Onuora

    Anyika graduated in economics from LJMU in 2008 and was in the very first class of scholars in the Sports Scholarship programme that launched in 2004. She went on to become an Olympic-winning track and field athlete.

  2. Ian Yee

    Ian studied at LJMU as an international student, travelling from Malaysia to Liverpool gaining his degree in mass communication in 2007. Since then, he has gone on to become an award-winning investigative journalist with a focus on social justice issues.

  3. Bas Pilar

    Bas moved from Spain to study in Liverpool after friendship with the online gaming community brought him to the city. Since then, he has become an award-winning engineering student and is making a difference to the energy sector by creating ways to heat homes and buildings more efficiently.

    Julia is an award-winning artist who specialises in documentary drawing and reportage. As an LJMU veteran of more than 25 years before retiring in 2013, Julia is our Bicentenary year Artist in Residence, capturing special moments through watercolour sketches to help record this significant moment in our history.
