1. Athena SWAN success for School of Sport and Exercise Sciences

   The School of Sport and Exercise Sciences has been successful in its application for Athena SWAN Bronze Award.

2. New mental wellbeing peer support

   We have a new team in place to help support any member of staff with their mental wellbeing. The LJMU Connectors are on hand to provide peer support and make sure colleagues have access to the appropriate resources and services.

3. LJMU partnerships to tackle skills gap in construction

   LJMU wowed industry partners with its future homes research at the launch of a new £370,000 centre for construction skills.

4. In memoriam: Caroline Chinn

   It is with great sadness that the university announces the death of Caroline Chinn following a long illness.

5. Open Research Week 2022

   Liverpool John Moores University, the University of Liverpool and Edge Hill University libraries are delighted to announce our programme for Open Research Week 2022, taking place from 14th-17th February 2022. There are 8 events over 4 days. All will take place over Microsoft Teams and each session can be booked individually. All events will be recorded; if you are unable to attend but are interested in the content, please sign up and the recording will be sent out to you in due course.

6. LJMU flying high in rankings for student satisfaction

   LJMU has leapt up a host of rankings tables for student satisfaction.

7. In memoriam Dr Alistair Beere

   Dr Alistair Beere passed away at the end of August and his funeral arrangements have been shared by his family.

8. MA Art in Science students exhibit works at Glastonbury's first art-science exhibition

   Ten Liverpool School of Art and Design students and graduates showcased their work in the Green Futures Field at Glastonbury festival.

9. New EDI Workshops Announced – Domestic Abuse Awareness & ‘Actions Speak Louder’ Allyship Training 

   LJMU's Equality, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI) Team are proud to be working in partnership with a number of subject specialists, to deliver a range of interactive (online) staff development training opportunities, including the introduction of two brand new courses; a 2 hour Domestic Abuse Awareness Workshop and a 90min 'Actions Speak Louder' Experiential Allyship (Race) training session, as well as the return of LJMU's 3 hour Transgender Awareness Workshop (back by popular demand).

10. Training police to the highest standards

    LJMU continues to impact the quality of police training in England and Wales with a new partnership to co-deliver a Graduate Diploma in Professional Policing Practice.
