   A NATIONAL campaign to kickstart social mobility in Britain has praised Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU) for going the extra mile to educate disadvantaged young people.

5. Reciprocal Mentoring Programme involving BAME Staff, Black Students and Senior Leaders

   Given the success of last year's pilot, we are running the LJMU Reciprocal Mentoring Programme again and we are extending it to include BAME staff from across the institution. The programme is open to all LJMU Senior Staff from Director Level of non BAME Background and to BAME staff from non-Director Level and to Black Students from all Faculties.

7. Calling All Aurorans

   For the first time, LJMU is bringing together all colleagues who have been a part of Aurora, Advance HE's leadership development initiative for women.

8. Making space for women to thrive in astrophysics

   More than 100 schoolgirls heard from LJMU astrophysicists during a special British Science Week event that celebrated the contribution of women in STEM.

9. International Day of Persons with Disabilities (IDPD) - 3rd December 2019

   1981 was designated by the United Nations as the International Year of Disabled People and since then, 3rd December has been marked as the International Day of Persons with Disabilities. The day aims to promote a better understanding of disability issues with a focus on the rights of disabled people and the gains derived from their integration into every aspect of the political, social, economic and cultural life of our communities.

10. LJMU donates microscopes for African youngsters

    A project is underway to ship LJMU microscopes to Africa.
