   LJMU student Victoria Smith, 24 was shortlisted for the Tourism Young Person of the Year award at this years Liverpool City Region Tourist Awards 2022. The awards, that took place at Liverpool Cathedral, saw businesses and guests from across Liverpool celebrating the city regions tourism sector.

3. Training for managers: disabilities and long-term health conditions, including mental health

   LJMU’s Equality, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI) Team, are proud to be working in partnership with coaching and training specialists; Result CIC (Community Interest Company) and are pleased to offer LJMU Managers, Programme Leaders and Personal Tutors (those directly responsible for staff/students) the opportunity to participate in a half day Training for Managers of Staff with Disabilities & Long-Term Health Conditions Including Mental Health, workshop.

4. Tate launch for Literature and Cultural History Research Institute

   Themes of sea, migration and mobility swept through the launch of the University’s Research Institute for Literature and Cultural History at Liverpool Tate.

5. Being Human Festival: Making death more sustainable

   A LJMU project, out of the School of Art & Design, seeks to raise awareness of new sustainable forms of human burial

6. £50,000 project to assess mental health value of 'great outdoors'

   A successful bid by a national research group led by LJMU looks to better strengthen the use outdoor natural environments as a mental health asset over the coming decade.

7. World Mental Health Day

   World Mental Health Day is observed annually on 10 October with the main objective of raising awareness of mental health issues and mobilising efforts in support of mental health.

8. Themes emerge from inaugural Liverpool Health Commission investigation

   Liverpool Health Commission, supported by LJMU, is currently midway through its inaugural investigation and is able to report a number of emerging themes.

9. Let’s Talk About Race Equality (Debating White Privilege, Micro-Aggressions, Allyship & Active Bystanders)

   The 2020 Black Lives Matter movement, reignited conversations on the subject of race equality, across the globe - The need for positive culture change was at the forefront of those discussions. This workshop aims to equip participants with the knowledge, skills and confidence to address race equality at LJMU and understand the importance of ally-ship.
