1. New role to lead LiRICS

   In line with its Climate Action Plan, LJMU has confirmed additional strategic investment in a new role to lead the Liverpool Research Institute for Climate and Sustainability (LiRICS).

2. Complete the Student Lifestyle and Health Survey 2024

   Each year we run this survey, it only takes 10 minutes to complete and asks you a range of questions from how much sleep you get, to if you get anxious and how often you feel stressed.

3. Critically Thinking About Race, Religion and Belief/Non Belief

   LJMU invited speakers from different backgrounds to discuss their views on the issues that are still apparent in today’s society. The conference, Critically Thinking About Race, Religion and Belief/Non Belief was presented to a packed lecture theatre of academics, students and professionals.

4. Fab Lab Liverpool creates board games to support LJMU research

   Fab Lab were commissioned by LJMU’s Research and Innovation Services to support two different projects, one to help students develop their research proposals and one that shines a light on the probation service.

5. Audit and Risk Policy update

   The Engagement of External Auditors for Non-Audit Work Policy has been revised.

6. Apprenticeships and Student Governance policy updates

   The new Apprenticeships Policy has received Academic Board approval and 20 Student Governance policies, guidance and pro forma have recently been reviewed, and have received minor amendments.

7. City and University Leaders share race and equality lessons

   Six months after launching the Reciprocal Mentoring programme, prominent leaders from the city of Liverpool and the university came together on campus, to mark the halfway point of their innovative scheme to develop greater understanding between the university and the communities they serve.

8. LJMU offers free legal advice to people of Liverpool

   New £2.6m Legal Advice Centre on Hardman Street welcomed by lawyers, campaigners and students.

9. Disability History Month at LJMU

   Disability History Month begins today (16 November – 16 December) and our Disabled Staff Network, EDI team and JMSU will be hosting an event on Friday 2 December.

10. Staff Qualifications and Health and Safety policy updates

    A number of LJMU staff policies have been updated.
