Denise is a prominent woman in sport, previously holding roles at Everton Football Club and the club’s official charity, Everton in the Community. She gained her PhD at LJMU, is an Honorary Fellow and took part in the 24th series of our Roscoe Lectures in 2021.
John is a PhD student with the School of Education. He is also ex-forces, having served with the RAF Police before leaving the military and beginning his own higher education journey. Alongside his studies, looking at research to support veterans, John is a student representative on our Armed Forces Steering Group.

Collaborations with industry has also seen the development of cutting-edge road surfaces. We’re stiving to achieve net zero by 2035, in line with the United Nations goal to reduce warming by 1.5°C.
