SDG 11 - Sustainable cities and communities
The world’s population is constantly increasing. To accommodate everyone, we need to build modern, sustainable cities. For all of us to survive and prosper. We need new, intelligent urban planning that creates safe, affordable and resilient cities with green and culturally inspiring living conditions.
LJMU plays an important role in supporting the sustainability of the Liverpool City Region. As part of our Climate Action Plan, we’re championing sustainable travel and initiatives across our city and campus. Not only are we aiming for carbon net zero, we’re also championing biodiversity initiatives across our campus and have reduced the energy consumption of our estate by 20%, since 2021/22.
