SDG 5 - Gender equality

Gender bias is undermining our social fabric and devalues all of us. By denying women equal rights, we deny half the population a chance to live life at its fullest. Political, economic and social equality for women will benefit all the world’s citizens. Together we can eradicate prejudice and work for equal rights and respect for all.

LJMU is committed to providing all students, staff, and community partners with a supportive, inclusive environment to help them reach their potential. Our efforts to promote gender representation have led to a balanced gender presence within our Executive Leadership Team. Additionally, our Staff Networks offer platforms for collective voices, reflecting the diverse experiences across our organisation.
