    Rio Boothe is an LJMU student and a para-athlete. He competes in athletics with the Manchester Harriers and with the LJMU Athletics Team. He’s a real role model for others with disabilities and is striving to raise awareness about the challenges disabled people face when trying to access sport.

  4. Dr Carol Cox

    Dr Carol Cox is a former police officer who now heads up higher education’s most successful unit for higher skills in policing in England, the Liverpool Centre for Advanced Policing Studies, part of our School of Justice Studies. Carol always wanted to help in the community and has an unshakeable belief in the power of education.

  5. Nikita Parris

    Nikita was a member of the England women’s football squad, the Lionesses, that won the 2022 UEFA Women’s Euro Championships. She was previously supported by LJMU under the Talented Athlete Scholarship Scheme (TASS) before becoming a sport development student alongside her blossoming professional football career which now sees her play for Manchester United. In 2023, she was announced as one of ten new LJMU honorary fellows to celebrate our 200th anniversary.
