1. LJMU makes commitment to become a Menopause Friendly employer

   Marking World Menopause Day 2024 the university continues to progress its workplace support, awareness and understanding of the menopause.

2. Chartered Society of Forensic Sciences awards 2023 research grant to LJMU academic

   Dr Nick Dawnay from the School of Pharmacy and Biomolecular Sciences has been awarded a £10K in support of a project looking to develop eDNA methods to support wildlife forensic investigations.

3. New date for staff event raising awareness of domestic abuse support

   Staff are invited to an event on Wednesday 14 December from 10am to 11am at Exchange Station (Room 1 & 2), where they can find out more about how we're supporting those impacted by domestic abuse.

4. LJMU Head of Journalism joins UK Government’s Media Literacy Taskforce

   Fran Yeoman, Head of Journalism in the Faculty of Arts, Professional and Social Studies, has been appointed to the UK Governments Media Literacy Taskforce Steering Board.

5. How AR technology could transform flood risk understanding and build resilience in the face of climate change

   Communities affected by flooding, and agencies responsible for managing flood risk, have had a first look at new Augmented Reality (AR) technology which shows the extent of future flood risk in their neighbourhoods.

6. LJMU host third annual research conference on menstruation

   More than 125 people took part in workshops and discussions on inclusive menstruation

7. Art and Science Exchange

   On Tuesday 27th & Wednesday 28th August 2019, the MA Art in Science programme at Liverpool School of Art and Design hosted an Art & Science Exchange workshop with members of the Biochemical Society. The exchange was held at the John Lennon Art and Design Building, in the Public Exhibition Space and X-Gallery amongst the MA Art in Science student's end of programme postgraduate exhibition, which showcases the outcomes of their three month research projects. These projects served as a basis for investigation of specific art-science interactions, and were supported by open discussions, hands on activities and a Liverpool LASER talk.

8. Student finance reminder

   If you are an undergraduate student and are continuing on your course in September 2019, don’t forget to reapply for your student finance as soon as possible.

9. Women in Professional Services event: Wednesday 12 October 2022

   Staff are invited to the first face-to-face networking event organised by the Women in Professional Services (WPS) Network, taking place on Wednesday 12 October 2022 at the Student Life Building with guest speaker Dawn Corker.

10. LJMU celebrates South Asian and East/Southeast Asian Heritage Months

    In celebration of South Asian Heritage Month (July 18 to August 17) and East and Southeast Asian Heritage Month (September), LJMU held an event on campus.
