1. City heritage walks return

   We are delighted to announce the return of our successful heritage walks around Liverpool.

2. Panama welcomes LJMU at world-famous canal launch

   A Liverpool delegation including Eddie Blanco-Davis, from LJMU’s Faculty of Engineering and Technology flew to Panama at the behest of the UK embassy in Panama to attend the official launch of the £3.9bn expansion of the Panama Canal.

3. Support for care experienced students to be enhanced beyond graduation

   A £50,000 donation will be used to help end the ‘care cliff’ for LJMU students as they finish their studies.

4. Criminology students visit Slovenia for international crime and harm reduction discussions

   Students and staff from the Criminology Department, School of Justice Studies recently spent a week in Ljubljana, Slovenia to discuss crime and harm reduction with a range of governmental and non-governmental organisations.

5. New website course search function

   This week marks the launch of an exciting new development to our website. A project group have been working with an external agency (Sagittarius) to improve the course search function.

6. World Book Day 2024: Reading Rivers

   Final-year creative writing student Kayla Marsh sat down with seven members of staff to discuss their ‘Reading Rivers’ – from the books never finished to the books that evoked tears.

7. Your LJMU January exam timetable

   LJMU’s assessment period will run from Wednesday 4 – Friday 13 January 2023 and personalised exam timetables are now available to view online.

8. New devices to record student attendance

   A large number of new devices have been installed across two of our campuses to record student attendance.

9. Sport science students make an impact with nearly 15,000 hours of placements

   From community sports clubs that support people with special educational needs to premier league football clubs, 173 students have undertaken 14,730 hours of work-based placements this academic year.
