1. Health and safety code of practice updates

   Two of our health and safety codes of practice and have updated and can be accessed on the Policy Centre.

2. New Professors and Readers

   LJMU has promoted five new professors and 34 new readers.

3. Annual survey and audit of teaching space to take place this October

   The annual survey and audit of teaching space will take place across the university between the hours of 9am and 5pm from Monday 23 to Friday 27 October 2023.

5. Award-winning Intern Programme supports young people with additional needs

   LJMU has been given a Best Partnership Working Award by Liverpool City Council for the university’s ‘Intern to Work’ project.

6. Liverpool in Shanghai: celebrating 25 years as sister cities

   Forty seven members of students and staff from Liverpool John Moores University have visited China this month as part of the Liverpool Outbound Education Mission to Shanghai.

7. LJMU Religion & Belief Workshops “Understanding religious diversity of our students and staff community”

   LJMUs Equality, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI) Team, are proud to be working in partnership with Zia Chaudhry (Director of LJMU Foundation for Citizenship), Zane Abdo (LJMU Muslim Adviser/Chaplin), Rabbi Natan Fagleman (LJMU Jewish Chaplain), Hannah Padfield (LJMU Anglican Chaplain), Father Neil Ritchie (LJMU Catholic Chapain) and other external consultants in order to offer LJMU Staff (& Students*), the opportunity to participate in a bespoke, half day Religion & Belief workshop.

8. Academics support project to protect sex workers from violence

   LJMU is set to be part of a ground-breaking Merseyside partnership that protects sex workers from violence.

9. Imogen scoops award with Counter Terrorism Police

   Liverpool Business School student Imogen Payen has received a commendation from Counter Terrorism Policing's Director General, Richard Westlake.

10. Donate to support homeless people this winter

    A local community organisation run by one of our academic staff is appealing for donations to support homeless people this winter.
