3. Whitechapel Christmas Appeal shows caring side of LJMU

   Thanks to the generosity of staff and students for the 2017 Whitechapel/LJMU Christmas Appeal, the University collected nearly 100 boxes of donations for homeless people and families in Liverpool.

4. Improving PGT student identity and their experience through understanding their expectations on entry – the findings from an 11 University HEFCE funded project

   The seminar will provide an opportunity for exploration through some of the findings from the HEFCE funded project.

5. New EDI Workshops Announced – Domestic Abuse Awareness & ‘Actions Speak Louder’ Allyship Training 

   LJMU's Equality, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI) Team are proud to be working in partnership with a number of subject specialists, to deliver a range of interactive (online) staff development training opportunities, including the introduction of two brand new courses; a 2 hour Domestic Abuse Awareness Workshop and a 90min 'Actions Speak Louder' Experiential Allyship (Race) training session, as well as the return of LJMU's 3 hour Transgender Awareness Workshop (back by popular demand).

6. Addressing gender imbalance within higher education

   For the fourth lecture in LJMU's Athena Lecture Series, three speakers from STEMM and non STEMM backgrounds presented to a packed lecture theatre comprising academics, students, professionals and Year 9 pupils from four local schools.

7. Is this the face of Robert the Bruce?

   Scientists and historians have joined forces to create detailed virtual images of what could be the head of Robert the Bruce, reconstructed from the cast of a human skull held by the Hunterian Museum.

8. Black History Month through the eyes of a local Liverpool pupil

   This month Ceana Khonje, a local pupil from Belvedere College in Liverpool took on a work experience placement here at LJMU.
