   LJMU Connect has launched the LJMU Mentoring Group to enable students, staff and alumni to develop meaningful mentoring connections within our LJMU community.

5. New library services website launched

   The LJMU Library website has had a major refresh over summer and has launched this week ready for the new academic year.

6. Empowering staff to support PGRs from racially minoritised groups

   Academic and professional services staff who support PGRs have a bespoke training and development opportunity designed by the educational charity Grit Breakthrough. Using a coaching approach to support PGRs is a two-day online coaching workshop, which will run across two days in November.

7. Chancellor Nisha Katona's 'afternoon with Claire House Children's Hospice'

   Claire House is one of LJMU’s corporate charity partners. Chancellor Nisha Katona attended “an afternoon with Claire House” to raise the profile of the amazing work the charity is doing for terminally ill children in Merseyside.

8. Gold award for support of the Armed Forces community at LJMU

   LJMU has received a gold award from the Ministry of Defence Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS) acknowledging how it provides support to the Armed Forces community.
