    Jamie Christon is the Chief Executive of Chester Zoo and was chosen as one of 10 new honorary fellows during LJMU’s Bicentenary year. The honour reflects his work driving forward conservation at the zoo, preventing extinction in a changing world, and working collaboratively with organisations, partners, and visitors.

  4. About the Centre

    Researchers in the Centre in Evolutionary Anthropology and Palaeoecology have used drones for the conservation of habitats, discovered how Neolithic agriculture spread, and uncovered the earliest evidence of hunting - to point out just a few of our achievements.   5. SDG 16 - Peace, justice and strong institutions

    LJMU is committed to creating peaceful and inclusive societies. On campus, we support Armed Forces Day and we’re recognised under the Ministry of Defence’s Employer Recognition Scheme. Locally, we’ve partnered with the Merseyside Police, raising the standard of policing in Merseyside. Nationally, LJMU AI researchers helped to solve murder case using a deep learning method originally developed for eco-conservation.
