   Two of our health and safety codes of practice and have updated and can be accessed on the Policy Centre.

2. Family judge for Cheshire and Merseyside hosts first LAC public debate event

   Her Honour Judge Margaret de Haas QC hosted the first public debate held by LJMU’s Legal Advice Centre, which focused on the legal rights of grandparents.

5. Championing positive culture change

   It was standing room only at LJMU's BAME Staff Network launch held at Sensor City earlier this month. The session, which was chaired by Professor Ahmed Al-Shamma’a, featured a range of enlightening and informative keynote talks.

6. Trainee pharmacists speed ahead in digital practice

   Pharmacists-to-be are being trained on the world's first fully patient-controlled online health record.

7. Sector-leading and innovative practice in advancing equality and diversity

   In a recent report by HEFCE on Sector-leading innovative practice in advancing equality and diversity, LJMU was commended for the number and range of events and initiatives focusing on equality and diversity issues.

8. LJMU receives Collaborative Award for Teaching Excellence and National Teaching Fellowship

   LJMU is one of 15 teams to win the Collaborative Award for Teaching Excellence (CATE) and an LJMU academic has also been awarded one of 54 National Teaching Fellows (NTF). Dr Philip Denton, Principal Lecturer at the School of Pharmacy and Biomolecular Sciences, is the recipient of the NTF and the paramedic team at LJMU’s Schools of Nursing and Allied Health received the CATE.

9. Catering store within iBuy down 14 to 18 August

   The catering store within iBuy will be down from 14 to 18 August. Any catering requests for during this period and up to the 22 August should be booked in advance.

10. LJMU to host Universities Policy Engagement Network fringe event on EDI

    The university will host an event for the Universities Policy Engagement Network (UPEN) to further their work in addressing Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) within academic-policy engagement.
