One of the UK’s youngest Black professors, an LJMU alum and former lecturer who attributes the success of his academic career so far, in part, to the supportive leadership and peers here at the university.

Former Sports Scholar Ruth is a champion in the sport of target shooting, the first Black female athlete to represent England and become English Champion in the sport and continues to get support from LJMU through its Talented Athlete Scholarship Scheme. She has hopes of competing in the Olympic and Commonwealth Games.
