3. Community – interviews with women activists in Nepal

   As a part of the Qualitative Analysis in Action project, you are invited to read the interviews with women who are making positive changes to their communities in Nepal. The interviews help us to gain a better understanding of these women's unique and inspirational lives.

4. Ray Riley

   Ray joined Elder Dempster Lines when he was just 16. Ray worked in Hamburg, before returning to Liverpool to marry. Listen to Ray's interview.

6. Group work

   Implementing group work assignments can be a valuable way to promote student learning, encourage teamwork and collaboration, and develop essential skills such as communication, problem-solving, and critical thinking.

8. Jo Stanley

   Dr Jo Stanley is a historian. Read about women who worked for Elder Dempster Lines, as well as two detailed pieces about the lives of two of Elders' former female employees - May Quinn and Julia Andrews.

9. Sharing Practice – Supporting Student Collaborative Activities with Shared Documents in Office 365

   Faculty colleague Andrew Kennedy has kindly offered to share his experiences of using shared documents on Office 365 both to support student group assessments and also to facilitate active and engaging shared writing and proof reading activities.

10. Obi Okeke

    Obi Okeke was Third Mate for Elder Dempster Lines. In his interview, Obi talks about why he joined Elder Demspter Lines, about his time at the University of Southampton and what it was like on board in bad weather conditions.
