In 1956, Jean was a Secretary working for the colonial government in Nigeria where she met her husband, John, who worked in the Elder Dempster Agency.
In her interview, Jean recalls how she felt at home in Nigeria and talks about what life was like in Ghana, Port Harcourt and Lagos.
