2. Christine Eyene joins LJMU and jury of Turner Prize 2022

   The Liverpool School of Art and Design has welcomed a new lecturer to its ranks, art critic, historian, and curator Christine Eyene. As well as taking up a new post here at LJMU, she will also play an important role in deciding the winner of one of the best-known prizes for visual art, the Turner Prize 2022, as she has been selected to sit on this years jury.

3. Public arts visionary leads lecture at Liverpool School of Art and Design

   LJMU welcomed Helen Marriage, the Co-founder and Director of Artichoke arts production company, to its first Luminary Lecture of 2022.

4. International Scholarships awarded to 16 students

   16 students were presented with their international scholarships this week at a reception in the Student Life Building.

6. LJMU partnering in major police fatigue study

   The National Police Wellbeing Service has been awarded funding to conduct a study of their sleep fatigue and recovery biometrics programme in partnership with LJMU.

   Staff are invited to the first face-to-face networking event organised by the Women in Professional Services (WPS) Network, taking place on Wednesday 12 October 2022 at the Student Life Building with guest speaker Dawn Corker.

8. How AR technology could transform flood risk understanding and build resilience in the face of climate change

   Communities affected by flooding, and agencies responsible for managing flood risk, have had a first look at new Augmented Reality (AR) technology which shows the extent of future flood risk in their neighbourhoods.

9. Merseyside Chief Constable's Lecture: Guns and Gangs

   Chief Constable of Merseyside Police Andy Cooke QPM delivered this year's Annual Chief Constable's Lecture titled ‘Guns and Gangs’.
