Faye is a 2023 graduate of LJMU, having studied law. She had, at times, a challenging experience at university, discovering she had dyslexia and a degenerative condition that impacted on her memory and conversation. But she showed resilience, courage and determination, with support from her family and LJMU, to successfully complete her studies.
John is a PhD student with the School of Education. He is also ex-forces, having served with the RAF Police before leaving the military and beginning his own higher education journey. Alongside his studies, looking at research to support veterans, John is a student representative on our Armed Forces Steering Group.

Our interest lies in the evolution of animal societies and the interactions that occur within these societies and their link to emotion, cognition and communication. We primarily study primates (including humans) but also other species including birds. We deliver real-world solutions to the football community. Our areas of interest within football include: fitness and nutrition, psychology, match analysis, physical activity, skill acquistion and coaching, and performance analysis.
Lorraine Shaw was the Subject Lead for Nursing in the School of Nursing and Allied Health from 2013 until her retirement in 2023. As a registered nurse since 1987, practising in a range of clinical areas, her ties with LJMU began in 1992 when she needed a degree to progress with her career and enrolled with LJMU while continuing to work full-time for the NHS, and later venturing into teaching and management.

Razvan embraced university life during his policing studies degree, having moved to the UK from Romania and being inspired by a coffee shop customer to work in the world of policing. He was a Student Advocate, supporting others to get into higher education and will now go on to serve with Merseyside Police taking his learned experience, and compassion for others, into his career.
