3. Graduation review: Thursday 21 November 2019

   Day two of graduation week saw more than 750 students receive their awards across two ceremonies at Liverpool Cathedral.

4. Diwali 2019 starts on Sunday 27th October and lasts for five days

   Diwali is the famous festival of lights, when families and friends get together to feast and celebrate. The five day festival begins on Sunday 27th October 2019; each day has its own individual meaning and associated celebration. The third day of Diwali is regarded as the most important day. Diwali literally means a ‘row of Lights’. It is a celebration of light! It is a time filled with light and love. The festival does not follow the Gregorian but rather the Hindu calendar known as ‘Tithi,’ which is a lunar calendar. We would like to wish all our students and staff community who celebrate this festival a very happy Diwali!

5. World Mental Health Day 2019

   World Mental Health Day on October the 10th is the annual global celebration of mental health education, awareness and advocacy. Throughout the week starting Monday 7th– Friday 11th October LJMU Student Advice and Wellbeing Services will be delivering a range of activities and raising awareness to celebrate good mental health and encourage us all to look at what we can do to maintain and promote positive wellbeing.

6. Postgraduate students – you could win £100 by completing a quick survey

   Could you spare a few minutes to complete a survey about your studies? Your answers to the questionnaire will help us to learn more about what we are doing well and where we could make changes and you will be entered into a prize draw with a chance of winning a cash prize.

7. Level 5 and Level 6 students - share your views for a chance of winning £100

   Could you spare a few minutes to complete a survey about your studies? The UK Engagement Survey (UKES) is a national survey asking students to comment on your engagement with different kinds of learning activities.

8. Black History Month Lecture reaches over 100 pupils!

   In celebration of Black History Month LJMU Historian Dr Andrea Livesey delivered a bespoke lecture entitled "Toppling Statues and renaming building" | The Black Lives Matter Movement and the History of Slavery to young people across the U.K.

9. Immersive Arts pioneer named among UK's 100 top creatives

   Liverpool Screen School lecturer Peter Woodbridge has been named among the most pioneering figures in the British digital and tech industry.
