1. Grad Fest 2019 – event for final year students on 3 April

   Grad Fest 2019 is a new event for final year students at LJMU, taking place on 3 April from 2pm-7pm at the John Lennon Art and Design Building.

   From free breakfasts and lunches, laundry product giveaways and writing for wellbeing workshops, LJMU has a month’s worth of free events for all students to get involved in this Feel Fab Feb.

3. Local pupils from across the city inspired at LJMU graduation

   Pupils from across the city have engaged with a variety of LJMU projects to experience graduation first hand.

4. 115 international upGrad students celebrated at LJMU

   115 students from India, Canada and Lebanon have been on campus this week as part of a three-day immersion week of celebrations with Liverpool Business School.

5. LJMU appoints Julia Midgley as Bicentenary year Artist in Residence

   Julia has a long history of connections with the university and will record events throughout 2023 in documentary drawing and watercolour sketches.

6. Project Harpocrates scholarship for police staff seeking a career in covert investigations and intelligence

   The police staff, drawn from Nottinghamshire Police, West Midlands Police and British Transport Police, secured the scholarship opportunity under an initiative known as Project Harpocrates. The project seeks to support law enforcement efforts to recruit and retain staff in the highly specialist area of covert operations and specialist intelligence.  Whilst the project was open to all officers one of the specific aims of the project is to increase the representation of  Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic staff (BAME)  in this challenging and exciting area of investigation and intelligence management.

7. Zia Chaudhry MBE is to join Liverpool John Moores University as the Director of the LJMU Foundation for Citizenship

   As Director of the LJMU Foundation for Citizenship, Zia will lead the University’s social engagement activity, building on LJMU’s long history of community engagement and impact, ensuring that the University maintains strong and innovative partnerships with other community organisations.

8. LJMU staff celebrated for their 1315 years of long service

   33 members of staff have been celebrated for working at the university for 25, 35, 45 or 50 years.

9. Happy Lunar New Year to our LJMU community across the world

   LJMU is wishing all our students, staff and partners in 30 institutions across the globe a happy Lunar New Year to all those celebrating.
