3. Women in football celebrated at inaugural LJMU networking event

   On Wednesday 15 June, LJMU celebrated the work of women in football at the inaugural meeting of the Football Exchange Women's Network (FExWN). The event brought together network members, delegates and industry speakers to celebrate their contributions to the sport and to challenge the realms of what is considered possible.

5. Christine Eyene joins LJMU and jury of Turner Prize 2022

   The Liverpool School of Art and Design has welcomed a new lecturer to its ranks, art critic, historian, and curator Christine Eyene. As well as taking up a new post here at LJMU, she will also play an important role in deciding the winner of one of the best-known prizes for visual art, the Turner Prize 2022, as she has been selected to sit on this years jury.

   Sport and Exercise Science at Liverpool John Moores University is in the top 15 in the world in a new global ranking.

8. Lecturer featured in NHS exhibition

   A lecturer from LJMU is featured in a fantastic exhibition celebrating NHS workers in Merseyside.

9. Pandemics and public health: have we found our new normal? - Conan Leavey and Graeme Mitchell, Public Health Institute, LJMU

   It was only a relatively short time ago - in March this year - that the World Health Organisation declared Covid-19 a pandemic. We know now that it is likely to be many, many months before the UK pronounces its outbreak over; and certainly years before it is over globally.

10. LJMU students help refugees at the Polish/Ukrainian border

    MA Wildlife Conservation students Vanessa Grundy, 27 and Alex Donnelly, 27 along with Vanessa's brother Mike Grundy are currently at the Poland-Ukraine border helping refugees get to safe accommodation in Krakow, and further across Europe, following Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
