4. Self-harm in women in prison 'deeply concerning' - study

   Women in prison who have experienced the care system as children report using self-harm as a way to communicate and stop the pain in their lives, says new research from LJMU and Lancaster and Bristol universities.

5. Exciting development opportunity for women to undertake action learning with peers from North West universities

   We are pleased to offer this development opportunity for up to 15 women working in academic and professional services roles to take part in cross institutional action learning sets with peers from universities in the North West region. Action learning provides a unique space for women to support each other to overcome work and career related challenges. This opportunity has been taken up previously by 150 women. Participant feedback includes: it was not role specific, so there were a range of individuals with different roles/skills/perspective which enriched my experience and It provided a rare opportunity to discuss issues confidentially outside of ones own workplace which helped me to develop more self-confidence and self-awareness.

6. Family judge for Cheshire and Merseyside hosts first LAC public debate event

   Her Honour Judge Margaret de Haas QC hosted the first public debate held by LJMU’s Legal Advice Centre, which focused on the legal rights of grandparents.

7. Students visit textiles and life conference

   MA Fashion Innovation and Realisation students: Joshua Marriott, Macarena Morilla Dominguez and Courtney Hammond presented research posters based on their MA proposals.

   We have launched a brand new app version of MyLJMU.

9. AVIT group developing a positive AV experience across campus

   Did you know that LJMU has a dedicated Learning Environment Panel and an Audio Visual and Information Technology (AVIT) group whose combined remit is to improve the quality of teaching space across campus?

10. Improving PGT student identity and their experience through understanding their expectations on entry – the findings from an 11 University HEFCE funded project

    The seminar will provide an opportunity for exploration through some of the findings from the HEFCE funded project.
