1. Staff and students welcome changes to Highway Code that promote active travel

   Staff and students at LJMU have welcomed changes to the Highway Code that restructure the road hierarchy and prioritise walking and cycling.

2. International Day of Persons with Disabilities (IDPD) - 3rd December 2019

   1981 was designated by the United Nations as the International Year of Disabled People and since then, 3rd December has been marked as the International Day of Persons with Disabilities. The day aims to promote a better understanding of disability issues with a focus on the rights of disabled people and the gains derived from their integration into every aspect of the political, social, economic and cultural life of our communities.

3. Taking Shaun the Sheep to China

   Aardman Animations is teaming up with creative technology experts in Liverpool to develop research for an immersive Shaun the Sheep experience in China.

4. Being Human Festival: Making death more sustainable

   A LJMU project, out of the School of Art & Design, seeks to raise awareness of new sustainable forms of human burial

5. Take part in a focus group with the Careers Team and get a £10 Amazon voucher

   The Careers Team would really like to hear your views on the careers services offered by the Careers Team to final year students and graduates.

6. Celebrating Cultures Event

   The celebrating cultures event this year had India, China, Canada, Pakistan, Colombia, Nepal, England, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Lesotho, Scotland, Vietnam, Nigeria, Indonesia, Greece, Italy, Bangladesh, Switzerland, Iran, Somalia and Brazil being represented. Following this event, an international student wrote a reflection on their experience in participating.

7. How does tourism impact city-centre living?

   LJMU hosts the Mayor of Liverpool at a public meeting on the future of tourism in the city.

8. Sport scientists on how we'll exercise post lockdown

   As gyms reopened their doors this week, two of LJMU's sport and exercise scientists shared their views with LJMU Corporate Comms and with The Times newspaper.

9. LJMU Marks National Inclusion Week (2020)

   National Inclusion Week runs from the 28th Sep - 4th Oct 2020 and gives you the opportunity to demonstrate your commitment to inclusion in and outside of the LJMU community.
