1. LJMU Vice-Chancellor appointed to city region's new Business and Enterprise Board

   Vice-Chancellor Professor Mark Power is to represent higher education on the new board.

2. Expressions of interest welcomed for multiple Academic Board vacancies

   The Secretariat is now seeking expressions of interest from eligible LJMU staff to serve on the Academic Board and to take up their roles in September.

   Academic Engagement Librarian Gemma Wright has been recognised by CILIP, The Library and Information Association, as an outstanding professional helping to lead the sector into a new age of information.

4. CPH shortlisted in North West Coast Research and Innovation Awards

   LJMU’s Centre for Public Health has been shortlisted in the ‘Best example of advancing local NHS systems for innovation’ category at the 2015 North West Coast Research and Innovation Awards for the Centre’s Integrated Monitoring System (IMS).

   LJMU is offering our second and final year students (Levels 5 & 6) the opportunity to undertake a paid 'Discovery Internship' with a local organisation, working on a suitable project or piece of work that will enhance your employability skills and career insight.

6. Public Health Institute and Drama students create educational film on gang-related violence

   LJMU Drama students have joined forces with LJMUs Public Health Institute to create an educational film helping NHS staff deal with the consequences of gang-related violence in hospitals.

7. Launch of Women’s Professional Services Staff Network 

   LJMUs newest staff network has launched this February with over 70 attendees from across Professional Services attending the event online. 

8. Maritime law lecturer named in top 100 list of women in shipping

   Anna Kaparaki, a lecturer in maritime law with LJMU, has been named in the list for the fifth consecutive year.

9. Graduation review Thursday 12 July

   The morning saw graduations from Maritime and Mechanical Engineering, the Astrophysics Research Institute, Electronics and Electrical Engineering and the School of Nursing and Allied Health. In the afternoon Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Engineering and Technology Research Institute, Civil Engineering and Built Environment all celebrated their graduations.

10. LJMU earns environmental recognition

    LJMU has been recognised for its environmental initiatives on campus following an external inspection.
